Deva Box Office Collection Day 2: Shahid Kapoor’s Action Film Hits Rs 10 Cr, Falls Short of Batti Gul Meter Chalu

Deva Box Office Collection Day 2: A Promising Uptick for Shahid Kapoor's Film

On Day 2, Shahid Kapoor’s long-awaited flick Deva clearly shows progress in its box office turnout. The movie had a rather slow beginning on its opening day, but on Saturday it responded favorably and ticket sales increased.

The first collection may have been disappointing, but Day 2’s higher attendance suggests the movie is gaining steam.

Deva Box Office Collection Day 2: Struggling to Gain Momentum Amidst Stiff Competition

Entering the box office scene with high expectations and with little opposition, Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde, is starting a difficult journey. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is finding it difficult to grab a strong hold in theaters since its opening runs lag behind those of Shahid’s past project. Deva made a meager Rs 5 crore on its second day, somewhat more than the Sky Force revenues of Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya over two weeks.

Though Deva has difficulties, one could find a positive side in things. The film’s earnings clearly showed an improvement on day two. If the current trend continues, the film could potentially accelerate and perform better on Sunday. But given the current low market competitiveness, the movie will have to go big to recapture the buzz it generated in the run-up to its premiere.

Deva’s Box Office Collection Soars on Day 2, Surpassing Rs 11.9 Crore in India

Both moviegoers and box office recorders have found Deva, the newest action thriller, impressive. Rising from its first-day sales of Rs 5.5 crore, the picture made a net collection of Rs 6.42 crore in India on its second day of release, a startling 16.73% increase. Early calculations by industry tracker Sacnilk indicate that the domestic total now stands at Rs 11.92 crore with this increase.

To heighten the buzz, production house Zee Studios issued an updated statement disclosing that the first-day net box office collection (NBOC) for the movie was really Rs 5.78 crore. While its performance abroad brought in Rs 3.49 crore in worldwide gross revenues, the movie also attracted a domestic gross box office collection (GBOC) of Rs 6.82 crore. Deva has already exceeded the Rs 10.30 crore mark worldwide on opening day with these numbers, indicating a strong beginning to what looks to be a fantastic run.

The film’s consistent gain in income, both domestically and abroad, points to viewers enthusiastically embracing the exciting, action-packed narrative, and numbers are projected to rise as word-of-mouth travels.

With results above Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey (Rs 3.1 crore and Rs 4.1 crore), Deva’s first two-day box office collection has shown encouraging signs. Still, it doesn’t live up to his other most recent achievements. Set considerably higher benchmarks are movies like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (Rs 6.7 crore and Rs 9.65 crore) and the smash Kabir Singh (Rs 20.21 crore and Rs 22.71 crore). With Rs 6.76 crore and Rs 7.96 crore, Batti Gul Meter Chalu—which finally flopped at the box office—still managed to top Deva. Though Deva has a bright future, it would be fascinating to see whether she can maintain her pace and top prior achievements.

Deva's Box Office Performance: Start slowly and then progressively improve

With a total occupancy rate of just 13.07 percent in the Hindi market, Deva, under Rosshan Andrrews’ direction, had a rough start at the box office on its opening Saturday. The early performances for the movie had a meager occupancy of just 5.84 percent, although audience turnout progressively rose throughout the day. The occupancy rose to 11.28 percent by afternoon, then somewhat increased to 14.20 percent in the evening. The night show performances of the movie peaked at 20.96 percent. Although the numbers are still low, the slow rise in audience participation points to possible improved performance in the next days.
